EVASA was established in 2024 by a few individuals whose purpose is to facilitate and help accelerate the transition to a sustainable future one EV at a time. The Association will endeavour to engage with all roll players within, and who also support this sector, to empower a cleaner, greener tomorrow through innovation thereby unlocking a zero emission future in line with South African and global objectives.
Some objectives include:
- Promoting the adoption and use of EVs in South and Southern Africa
- Advocating for policies and incentives that support the growth of the South African EV Industry.
- Provide education and awareness about the use and benefits of EVs.
- Assist where possible with the roll out of the DTIC Policy and Action timeline in support of the transition to EVs in South Africa.
- Fostering a community of EV enthusiasts and owners.
- Collaborating with industry stakeholders to drive innovation and progress.
- Help develop EV related standards and best practices.
- Support research and development of new EV technology.
